I love this modern monogram set! 

It's an applique design so you can use your favorite fabrics as the background for the beautiful letters (as shown on the pink D pillow above).  Or stitch it without the applique fabric and use it as a frame - examples of no applique are below.

There are also color options for stitching this design.  Use different contrasting thread colors for a unique modern look.  Here's a close up of the design so you can see how nice it stitches - I used a very light pink polka dot print for the applique fabric:
